I bought the LHZ-02 HazLabs preamp clone for my Spector NS-2A which I purchased in the 1990’s without the original pickups and HazLabs preamp. It had Seymour Duncan Basslines PJ pickups and preamp installed instead.
I’m loving this in my 5 LX and will be getting a second one for the intended NS-2A.

We had the opportunity to compare the circuitry, components, EQ response, and audio artifacts between our LHZ-01 and LHZ-02 preamps and a vintage HazLabs preamp (serial number 2029). We also had a KHaz clone and ran the same comparisons as well.
We’ve recently acquired a 2006 Spector ReBop 5 DLX in original condition, complete with EMG HZ pickups and TonePump, so thought we’d document the wiring and create a diagram to help others who are diagnosing issues or replacing preamps.
