SYMPTOMS: You are experiencing unusual noise when a wireless transmitter is used. The noise can be anything from static, hiss, high-frequency whine, pops, clicks, dropouts, or audio fading in and out.
CAUSE: Wireless transmitters that use a 3-conductor TRS plug can cause noise issues.

The LHZ preamp does exactly what the original 80’s HazLabs did: the EQ was specifically tuned for US Spector® basses. The circuit design is unique in that the initial stage greatly boosts the treble before the EQ stage, and then that boost is removed. This causes the preamp to generate high frequency harmonic content that acts somewhat like an exciter to bring out more detail, particularly when the EQ is boosted. We’ve recently acquired a 2006 Spector ReBop 5 DLX in original condition, complete with EMG HZ pickups and TonePump, so thought we’d document the wiring and create a diagram to help others who are diagnosing issues or replacing preamps.
We are pleased to announce that we have contracted a manufacturer to produce custom potentiometers for our Bass and Treble controls to be paired with our LHZ Preamps. The new potentiometers match Spector OEM physical specs and will be available by the end of September.
