LHZ Preamps: The Modern Alternative for Vintage HazLab Tone

LHZ Preamps started as a hobby project on the TalkBass forums with a goal to recreate the vintage preamp circuit used in the 80’s HazLabs using the same circuit design and dynamics that made the HazLabs preamp unique.

After the second prototype was built we started getting messages from users asking to purchase a unit, which started the process of upgrading manufacturing and testing capabilities for retail sale.

Despite humble beginnings as a niche market preamp, word-of-mouth recommendations has made LHZ preamps a respected name among Spector® enthusiasts and artists. We ship worldwide, have multiple Spector® endorsed artists supporting who have upgraded their touring basses with LHZ preamps, and pride ourselves on putting quality and customer support over quantity. We’d rather build fewer preamps and offer better service, instead of building a lot of preamps and just be another commodity product.
