Matt Baldwin

My Ibanez with Bartolini’s was customized with a 3-band LHZ and a “Passive Aggressive” bypass switch. Passive, it’s nice and polite. Kick in the LHZ and it’s go time: these Barts Got Bite!!

Matt Baldwin is the bassist for the Arizona-based rock band Teskey, which was formed in 2024 and performs a blend of blues, rock, and related genres. The band’s lineup for live performances and recordings includes Baldwin on bass alongside other core members; in 2025 they released their debut full-length album White Wolf following earlier singles in 2024.

Prior to his involvement with Teskey, Baldwin’s professional music experience spans performance in live settings and collaboration with regional artists in the Phoenix music community. His role in Teskey involves contributing to both studio recording sessions and national tours, supporting the band’s presence on the contemporary blues-rock circuit.

Beyond performance, Matt participates in promotional activities for band releases and appearances, including social media engagement and scheduled concert tours.

Matt’s first LHZ installation was in his Spector Legend. The upgrade inspired him to try the LHZ in an Ibanez that had been a practice to see if it would “wake up” the tone of the passive instrument. The resulting transformation of tone was so significant that the bass was used for subsequent recording sessions.
