HL-1 HAZard LAMPS Pedal by LHZ Preamps

Today we take a look at the HL-1 HAZard LAMPS Pedal, which is designed to give you that classic “Haz” tone on the floor. This pedal was designed for players using Spector® basses (with EQ dimed) who need to use a passive bass for a few songs. The HL-1 allows a passive bass to have the same EQ, dynamic feel, and signature high-frequency overtones as a USA Spector® bass.

No, it will not make a Fender® sound like a Spector®! Your bass will still have it’s signature sound. The HL-1 will just bring out it’s voice so it’ll sit in the mix perfectly when changing instruments.

Several players have noted that the HL-1 works very well on basses with active preamps. By leaving the bass EQ flat, the HL-1 will add the signature overtones and dynamics to the signal just as if it had a built-in LHZ Preamp. This video will use a brief riff to illustrate the differences between a Spector® Euro with the LHZ (EQ dimed), a Fender® Jazz with EMG preamp (EQ dimed), and a Fender® Jazz through the LH-1 HAZard LAMPS (EQ dimed).
