NEW FOR 2024: THE LHZ-03 PREAMP
We’ve listened and took your feedback to the engineering office: The LHZ-03 is a redesign of our earlier LHZ-01 and LHZ-02 models with the goal of making the preamp smaller and much easier to install into compact spaces. We’ve reduced the size, moved inputs to 90-degree connectors, eliminated redundant connections, labeled all the IO with common terms instead of “geek speak”, and rearranged components to eliminate the possibility of touching other components in the cavity. The circuit is the same, the sound is the same, but the fit and ease of installation are much MUCH improved.
LHZ-01 and LHZ-02 RETIRING
The LHZ-03 replaces both the LHZ-01 and LHZ-02 preamps and is equally capable of being used with soldered configurations AND modular EMG control systems.
The LHZ-01 was the first version we released. It only provided solder connections to the board. Later, we modified the board to include pin headers to provide connectivity to EMG’s modular controls, and named this the LHZ-02.
The LHZ-02 was our flagship model for 2023 and has been installed in hundreds of Spector basses. Despite it’s small size and flexibility, it was a compromise solution that had far more connectors that needed and made installation confusing for novices.
